In a cramped Hong Kong co-working space in 2020, four friends—an ex-Taobao engineer, a WeChat Pay refugee, and two crypto miners—realized overseas Chinese were stuck paying 20% fees to top up phones or games. They built CNRecharge as a USDT-only platform, bypassing banks and cutting costs. Within a week, 50 users from Singapore to São Paulo funded accounts with stablecoins.
